Modern Day Gypsy
Think music festivals, warm spring days, and the laid back feeling of the 1970's.
I love how laid back and easy this look is to create. I am a hippie at heart and love going to music festivals, bonfires, and road trips. I know this look will be popular with the rising popularity of music festivals and the warmer weather that spring will bring.
Sorority Girl
Think college life, monograms, Southern style, lots and lots of bows, Jackie O, and Blair from Gossip Girl.
This is easily my go-to look. You don't have to be a sorority woman to appreciate and pull off this style. I am a firm believer that fashion should be fun and you should dress like everyday is a party. The bows, floral prints, pastels, and pearls will leave any woman feeling and looking like a princess.
Now I have an assignment for y'all! Leave me a comment telling me which of the two styles you like best! Don't like either of these? Then tell me what styles/trends you think will be popular in 2012!
Stay Classy,
Natalie Rose
I love the hippie style! Although I do love to dress up and be super fancy and glamorous, sometimes a girl just needs one of those laid back, care free days. I like the picture with the feathers on the head, its so 70s and its a fun way to dress up your head! I like both trendboards but the Modern Day Gypsy is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI really love your Sorority Girl page. I think the colors, especially the blue backround, make it especially appealing! Also, that page is totally my style. I would like to dress that cute everyday...but....I get kinda lazy and just want comfy clothes! Anyway, the Sorority Girl page is definitely the most successful in my opinion. Great layout!
ReplyDeleteGreat storyboards Natalie. I can relate to both -- some days I feel the hippie style (which is my high school years!) and some days I am all about the perky Kate Spade look. Currently I am loving Kate Spade -- so for me -- I say go with the Sorority Girl and maybe give her a hippie twist somehow!
ReplyDeletethese couldn't be any more you if you tried! i love them! you youthful and fun! i love the colors you chose
ReplyDeletevery youthful, not sure why i said "you youthful"
DeleteI love the Modern Day Gypsy storyboard. You have a warm color palette and interesting layers and textures. I would definitely use this story board as inspiration for a collection.
ReplyDeleteThe Modern Day Gypsy is my favorite. The firey earth tones truly reflect the hippie style. I love the images of the braids and feathers. Great choice, looks promising!
ReplyDeleteI love the first board because it appeals to my personal styles so much. & i enjoy the inclusion of an illustration
ReplyDeleteI personally liked your Sorority Girl board the best. I love the "prep" look and I think you can do so much with it.
ReplyDeleteI really love the gypsy/hippie look and I think every girl can pull it off and for that reason it is easy to market but, i think it might be a little over done- i think you should go sorority girl. Its fresh and the colors are so clean and fun. and the board you put together really looks effortless.
ReplyDeleteWhat a coincidence, I'm listening to gypsy music right now. I do love the looks on the first board- they're so comfortable and come off as so effortless. If only I didn't have to ride a bike everywhere, I'd be in my big skirts picking flowers
ReplyDeleteThe second board makes me smile so much- it's so neat and pulled together, sort of the nostalgic image you have of sorority gals forty and fifty years ago. I like how preppy and light it is- a great image of a Sorority girl.
I like to gypsy board, the sorority board reminds me a lot of the juicy couture phase, the gypsy board seems easier to wear which will appeal to more people
ReplyDeleteI'm a HUGE fan of the sorority board. I love the pastel colors and floral prints especially. The preppy look has always been one of my favorites. It's a classic.
ReplyDeleteLove the color inspiration in your first posting! Too adorable and perfect to transition from one season to the next!
ReplyDeleteIm in love with the hippie one, especially with spring and summer coming up. I'm a hippie at heart too :)
ReplyDeleteI love both boards too much. The Modern Day Gypsy reminds me of relaxing and lounging back in the sun, but the sorority board is so much fun and welcoming as well. I guess my favorite is the sorority board because of the style. The colors are bright, but not too bright, plus the floral prints are too die for. Its classy and sophisticated, yet chique and modern.
ReplyDeleteI love these, Natalie! The pictures in each trend complement each other very well. I would definitely buy your clothes if you made stuff resembling these trends :D
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! U have gr8 taste sista
ReplyDeleteAwesome designs. You have a wonderful eye.
ReplyDeleteI love the sorority girl section, definitely gives me the urge to go shopping this weekend!
ReplyDeleteSorority girl, that's basically what I'm fashioning my entire wardrobe to become. Just added two Ralph Lauren button ups to my closet this weekend! Love that board!
ReplyDeleteI love everything under the hippie style looks! They are so carefree! You did an amazing job with both of these styles!
ReplyDeleteI look around campus and the sorority rain boats showed up all over. Same with the MK watches and frockets...
ReplyDeleteLOVE the gypsy style! I'm a total hippie and I'm always looking for ideas to work into my wardrobe :) It looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love the gypsy style. It's so fun and laid back, and there are so many different pieces and combinations to dress up or down any outfit. The sorority girl style is cute and classy, but a little too dressy for me on a regular basis. Both styleboards are really well put together :)
ReplyDeleteI can relate more to Modern day Gypsy cause I am a huge part hippie. This is a great idea especially in the weather to come.
ReplyDeleteI love the classiness of the second trend board. I think that it would apply to a wide range of women from college students to working women. The colors are very appropriate for the theme too.
ReplyDeleteI prefer the modern day gypsy board. The color scheme is interesting and it makes me excited for summer. Headbands might've been worn to their exhaustion, but there's still lots more to explore in the gypsy trend
ReplyDeleteMy fav is by far the Modern Day Gypsy! I also though that I was born in the wrong decade. I love the flowers and feathers, knits and flowy fabrics. I love the folksy singer-songwriter music like Crosby Stills and Nash, Carly Simon and Fleetwood Mac. Plus I love spring and summertime and this look brings me back to those days. But I definitely think my style incorporates the sorority look as well because I'm a sucker for the button down
